In April 2026, the “Fondazione Roberto de Rubertis Third Sector Organization” (Roberto de Rubertis TSO Foundation) was established in Trento to promote the intellectual legacy of the architect, scholar, and professor. The RdR Foundation is a non-profit organization that pursues cultural, civic, and charitable goals through scientific research, higher education, and the promotion of open science.
“The Foundation supports activities that foster collaboration at all levels between the world of scientific research, the fields of education, and civil society, with a view to mutual improvement and benefit, particularly on the issues of cultural promotion and social well-being, innovation and inclusion, the quality of studies and effective teaching, and sustainable development in all its aspects” (Article 4 of the Statute).

The Foundation was born as a natural extension of the XYdigitale project, aiming to strengthen and broaden its impact, particularly in publishing and scientific communication, with a focus on visual media. Building on this experience, the Foundation intends to gradually expand its scope, developing independent initiatives to disseminate open science, support talent through scholarships and awards in Italy and abroad, protect and enhance tangible and intangible cultural heritage, and offer educational services.
The Foundation is a participatory foundation operating in Italy and abroad, collaborating with universities, research centres, and public and private institutions. Individuals, legal entities, and organizations who share its goals and wish to actively contribute, whether through financial contributions, professional expertise, or volunteer work, may join as participants. The Foundation seeks to be a tool for innovation and inclusion, ensuring the high quality of its actions so that they translate into a concrete benefit for the community and the environment.
While we wait for the dedicated website to be launched, news about the RdR Foundation will be shared through XYdigitale channels.
