Richard McElveen is currently a design practitioner and Senior Lecturer in Visual Communication at IADT
Dún Laoghaire, Dublin. Previously Senior Lecturer in Visual Communication at Falmouth University and Course Director at Ulster University, lecturing in Branding and Art Direction. He is an active practice-led researcher seeking to further examine Design and Typographic practice, making explicit connections between craft, research, theory, history, criticism and pedagogy. Co-founder of Re:Collection, an ongoing initiative to develop an archive of notable graphic design and advertising material produced in Northern Ireland. Founder of DesignerDialogue an established national and international graphic design network with a programme of exhibitions and guest speakers. ISTD Assessor in Dublin and London since 2007.
