The Foundation, established in 1999 in accordance with the artist’s wishes, one year after his death, is dedicated not only to the preservation and cataloguing of his artistic and literary works, but also to their cultural promotion through the organization of exhibitions, conferences, and publications relating to Lucio Saffaro’s various works.
The Foundation recently produced the documentary film for RAI Educational, Lucio Saffaro. Le forme del pensiero (Lucio Saffaro: The Forms of Thought), directed by Giosuè Boetto Cohen, in collaboration with CINECA in Bologna.
Following the death in 2011 of Professor Giovanni Maria Accame, who served as President of the Foundation from 1999 to 2011, the Board resolved to appoint him Honorary President.
At present, the Board consists of Professor Federico Carpi, President; Professor Fabio Roversi-Monaco, Honorary President; Dr. Mauro Felicori, representative of the Mayor of the Municipality of Bologna; Dr. Gisella Vismara; and Professor Claudio Cerritelli, Board Members. Lawyer Astrid Merlini serves as Secretary General.
