Official website of the Italian Union for Drawing (UID), a non-profit scientific and cultural association whose aim is to develop, promote, and coordinate scientific research activities in the field of Drawing 08/E1 (formerly ICAR 17), and to foster the coordination and development of teaching activities in the disciplines of Drawing, in light of scientific innovations and through multidisciplinary contributions.
The Union pursues these aims by organizing, promoting, and sponsoring conferences, study seminars, commissions and research and working groups, competitions and scholarships, and publications, both independently and in collaboration with bodies, institutions, scientific societies, and other cultural associations, in Italy and abroad. In particular, UID promotes and coordinates both theoretical and applied research on all topics related to Drawing in its many meanings, including the various surveying procedures, methods of representation, computer modeling, graphics, and cartography, also considered in their historical development.
